Details: The tournament was due to be held at Vaasan Sähkö Arena in mid-September. Eight teams were expected to take part in the competition. The ice arena was expected to attract several thousand spectators.
IS reported that negotiations between the organisers and the Vaasa city authorities had been ongoing for a long time. The turning point came in April, when the city authorities received information from an external source that Russian players were allowed to take part in the tournament.
It should be noted that entry to Finland for Russians has been restricted since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
The tournament will reportedly be moved to Spain.
