US President Donald Trump said Sunday that American naval forces intercepted and disabled an Iranian-flagged cargo ship that attempted to breach a US naval blockade in the Gulf of Oman, with Marines now holding the vessel in custody.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the incident, saying the USS Spruance intercepted the vessel as it transited the northern Arabian Sea at 17 knots, bound for the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas. It released video footage through US social media company X showing a US warship warning the vessel before firing.

Iranian forces responded by launching drone strikes on multiple American vessels in retaliation for US forces firing on and intercepting an Iranian ship, according to local reports.

At least two US planes carrying "advance delegates" landed in Islamabad on Sunday, ahead of a possible second round of high-stakes talks with the Iranian side, multiple Pakistani sources familiar with the developments told Anadolu.

The planes landed in Islamabad before the delegates moved to a five-star hotel, at least three sources said. This came after US President Trump said he was optimistic about ongoing negotiations with Iran, and that he believed there was "a very good chance" of finalizing it. Potential talks are expected to take place on Tuesday.

The Progressive Bulgaria coalition led by former President Rumen Radev has been leading in preliminary election results which the country’s Central Election Commission began releasing hours after Sunday’s early parliamentary polls.

According to results by 7 am local time (0400GMT), with more than 68.3% of the tally sheets processed, Progressive Bulgaria received 44.5% of the votes, local media reported.

The Central Election Commission had said over 6.5 million people were eligible to vote in Sunday’s election, and as of 4 pm (1300GMT), the voter turnout nationwide stood at 34.63%.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy on Sunday called for decreasing Russian oil exports, saying continued easing of sanctions against Moscow “fuels the Russian leadership’s illusion that they can continue the war.”

Zelenskyy said that over 110 tankers from Russia’s "shadow fleet" are currently at sea.

US cloud application company Vercel said Sunday it identified unauthorized access to certain internal systems, adding that a limited number of customers were affected.

The company said it is investigating the incident with the support of external response experts and has notified law enforcement authorities.
