SEOUL, April 21 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co. said Tuesday it has introduced the Ioniq 3, a compact electric vehicle (EV) hatchback model for Europe, as it aims to expand its electrified lineup in the region.
The new model, the latest in Hyundai Motor's Ioniq EV lineup, was unveiled at the 2026 Milano Design Week held in Italy on Monday (local time). It is designed to offer a balance of aerodynamic efficiency, interior space and user-friendly technology tailored to everyday driving needs, the company said.
The Ioniq 3 adopts a new design concept, named Aero Hatch, featuring a streamlined silhouette that enhances airflow while maximizing cabin space and overall comfort.
Two battery options will be available, offering projected ranges of 344 kilometers and 496 km. The model will also debut Hyundai Motor's Pleos Connect infotainment system in Europe, built on the Android Automotive operating system.
The Ioniq 3 was designed by Hyundai Motor's European team and will be manufactured in the company's plant in Turkiye. The model will launch later this year.
"With the Ioniq 3, we are bringing the bold design, driving enjoyment and advanced features of the Ioniq brand to a broader range of customers across Europe," said Xavier Martinet, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Hyundai Motor Europe.
