Missed the deadline to book a flat in Delhi's tallest residential tower? The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has offered homebuyers another chance, extending the booking period for flats under its 'DDA Towering Heights' scheme in East Delhi's Karkardooma till June 30.According to an official order issued on Thursday, bookings under the scheme will now remain open until June 30. The deadline, which was originally scheduled to end in March, had earlier been extended till the end of May.The order said, “In continuation of the above, the booking period for flats under the said scheme has been extended up to June 30. This extension provides an additional opportunity to individual buyers as well as government agencies for bulk purchase of the flats on offer.”The housing project, being developed under the project management supervision of NBCC, features a 48-storey tower rising 155 metres and has been designed as a premium residential address. DDA has described it as Delhi’s tallest residential building and the city’s first housing project developed under the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) policy. For aspiring homeowners, the application process starts when DDA puts completed flats up for allotment. Buyers in the HIG and MIG categories can apply following public announcements in leading newspapers, while comprehensive brochures covering prices, eligibility criteria and scheme conditions are available through DDA sales centres and designated banks.Can you apply for DDA schemes?Applicants seeking a DDA flat must be Indian citizens and at least 18 years old on the last date of application submission. They should not face any legal restriction on owning property in Delhi and must provide details of a savings bank account in their own name while submitting the application.
