Eight more people have been arrested after a series of arson attacks in London.

The Metropolitan Police said that seven of the arrests were made over an alleged conspiracy to commit a further arson attack impacting the Jewish community, although the specific target is not yet known.

Officers from Counter Terrorism Policing London arrested three men aged 24, 25 and 26 in Harpenden on Sunday. They were taken in custody then released on police bail.

On Monday, a 25-year-old man was arrested in Stevenage, while a 26-year-old man and two women aged 50 and 59 were arrested in a car in Birmingham.

A 39-year-old man was also arrested in Ealing on Tuesday under the Terrorism Act, in connection with a investigation into jars of a non‑hazardous substance found in Kensington Gardens on 17 April.

They have all been taken to a London police station where they currently remain in custody.
